Park Portraits

This Saturday I had a couple of sessions in the park. Here are a few favorites.

This is Corwin. I photographed his mommy when she was pregnant with him and him when he was a newborn and again at 8 months. He has become such a little man. Here he is at 15 months.

I used to work with Corwin's mommy Amy. While we were taking Corwin's pictures we ran into Miss Stella. I also used to work with Stella's Mommy Donna.   Donna, Amy and I used to have Mommy lunches together and have been a great help with any new Mom questions I have had. I took the opportunity to grab a picture of the kids together. None of them look too happy here. Kyndal was red faced from crying after just falling over. Thanks Gina for doing your best to get them to smile, she certainly got all of the adults smiling, but this is all we got out of the kids.

Here are Eligah and his big brother Charlie. Mom wanted to get some pics before Charlie was away from home pursuing his music career.

Also one of Eligah hanging out in the tree.

I also took some park time after Kyndal napped in Daddy's arms for a bit to take her 9 month pictures. She will be 9 months old this Friday. I have been wanting to get some large canvas pictures of her made, I see canvas potential here.

Billy's Graduation

Last Saturday my nephew Billy graduated from Cookeville High School. You may remember his pictures from a previous post. Yes that was the same day as the wedding, it was a very busy day for me. We are so proud of him. He had many of his family members there so see the wonderful event. His graduation was held in the Hopper Eblen Center at Tennessee Tech, where Bret and I both received our college diplomas. Here are a few pics. We were so far away making it difficult to get pictures and I didn't want to lug all of my equipment the the graduation, of course once I was there I was wishing I brought a different lens!

Billy walking in. We kept saying is that him, is that him with each tall blond boy. At last we saw him walk in.

I love this picture, although it is far away. That face in the middle looking up in the sea of other faces is Billy. Looking up toward his family. You can click on the picture to see it a little bigger.

I climbed over chairs to get out of my row and sneak down for a few pictures a little closer up. I love this one too and he was making his way to the front to get his diploma.

And finally here he is receiving his diploma!!

Olivia and Jason - May 19th

After doing Olivia & Jason's Engagement and Olivia's Bridal pictures, their big day finally arrived. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding and reception. Here is a sneak peek of the wedding photos.

I love this photo of Olivia getting ready.

We stopped by their church before the wedding for Olivia & Jason to take some formal photos. This photo was a recreation of one that Olivia had seen done before at the church, she just had to have this one. I hope she loves it.

A kiss

A fun one with the groom.

The beautiful tent ready for the reception.

I love this photo of Olivia and Jason after the wedding, you can really tell how happy they are.

New Backdrop System

I am so excited to have a new backdrop system in my studio. Many of you have seen me switching backdrops on my stand and it is quite a task for shorty me. Some of you may even remember when my paper backdrops were not mounted on the wall. This weekend I installed a track that allows me to hang all of my backdrops and just pull over the one that I want to use. Here are a few pics of my new system. Hopefully this will enable me to have a bit more variety and use some of the colors that I rarely pull out of the closet. It also gave me a ton more room in my closet for all of my other equipment and props. Some of those backdrops are 10 feet by 20 feet, so you can imagine how much space they take up in a closet.

Wedding cake, part deux

My husband and I recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, and as a gift to him I got small versions of our wedding cakes made. We originally got them from The Bake Shoppe and they were so yummy, so I called up The Bake Shoppe again and they did a wonderful job replicating our cakes. They were once again yummy. We had the same debate this time around as to who's cake tasted better. My white with chocolate chip or his Kahlua chocolate cake. One thing we agree on is that the little Tuxedo Strawberries are just adorable and delicious.

We were a little nicer this time, just a little dot on the nose

So if any of you wedding couples are looking for great cakes, we highly recommend The Bake Shoppe.
